From 2007, I am registered with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers as a Composer/Author. From about 1985 to about 2006, I collaborated and sang and composed and arranged tracks with friends and fellow artists in Nashville, Los Angeles, Boston, and Birmingham, UK. As soon as I invested the time to register and seek equity? All those folks drifted away; they adored free, not me. That was my lesson to learn and I did.
I still write. But I lost all my gear (keyboard, Cubase, Reason, et al) in 2008 and haven’t gotten back to anything near it since. When MCAS took my breath and voice not that long after, I told myself I was too old to chase music anymore and tried to pretend like it didn’t matter. When I started reading about this LLM tech in 2017, I got excited. But we all know this implementation isn’t the one needed. So I did my research and collected my data and put my own protocols into the models while they were small and easily access and touched. Later, from about 2024 to Early August of 2026, I worked with open source and proprietary models to assess for ethical compliance, to design a theory for ethical use, and to get demos for my legacy project completed (Codename Dakini – albums 1 – 3, and a series of single demos across genres as proofs of concept).
I started to distribute them, but I found out something about Suno.Com and how they are doing business that caused me to immediately pull all releases and stop using their service. I’ll write about that in the near future. For now, the demos live in audio format over at https://whyp.it and I’ll direct link each collection for you here:
